Is it normal i'm afraid to brush my teeth cause it hurts so badly

I've already been to the dentist and its a good quality one so don't say "find another dentist" they said there was nothing there and said maybe later it will become cavities I said maybe it's sensitivity but they didn't really seem to care. So I took some of the free toothpaste since it was for sensitive teeth and that made it 100x WORSE! Sure it feels better brushing but doing anything else now hurts so bad after using that stuff!! Everyday when I have to brush my teeth it takes me like 15 minutes to work up the courage. It hurts that bad! And the dentist doent care so pls help what's wrong? The pain occurs on my upper canine teeth and the ones around it

"I go to a high quality dentist who treats me like they don't care when I have a problem"

    Really?

    • But what if he's right, I mean I'm sure he has high ratings, he basically pushed it away as nothing so maybe it is nothing that any dentist can help me with it's just some personal problem I must deal with :(

Pain is not a "personal problem". If you are having pains of the teeth and gums so severe that you fear brushing your teeth, there is something wrong. If a dentist is not interested in the issue and refuses to discover the cause, he is not doing his job correctly. Who cares how highly rated he may or may not be? Why would you accept the opinions of others above your own experience?

Maybe there is really nothing that can be done for you condition. I don't know, I'm not a dentist. But I would certainly expect my dentist to identify the cause before determining there is no solution. If you are content to continue to live in pain, that is your choice. I would get a second opinion.

Even if it's a good one, you should loook for another dentist if they say they don't care. It's not normal that it hurts so bad, but I'm not a dentist, I can't give you any other advice than to just find someone else to look into it for you.
