Is it normal i'm paranoid of someone at my job going postal?

i work at fedex in a warehouse full of other people and i am always paranoid some disgruntled employee is going to come with a gun and start shooting everyone. when i'm at work, i scout as much of the area i am in as much as i can to make sure i am not caught off guard. when i arrive at work i scout the area outside of the building just to be safe. i always make sure i can see the nearest exit in case something pops off. people got problems, and they will bring their problems to you and anyone else around them. the other day a coworker got into it with one of the supervisors and he was forced to leave for the day. i was paranoid he was going to return and shoot the place up because of how angry he was. that's why i try not to interact too much with people when i'm at work because if some crazy fool does decide to snap and they have a list of the first people they want dead, i don't want to be on it so i stay to myself.

We should all get into the habit of being more aware of our surroundings and being more alert. It's a dangerous world we're living in.

You should just quit your job and sail the seven basements like me

Indeed, the unpredictable and dangerous world we live in plays host to a vast number of homicidal fools, but you are being slightly over-paranoid.

I'm often scared that a traumatised or angry patient might come into my office with a gun wanting revenge. That's why I keep two handguns and an assault rifle in my desk. However, I probably wouldn't use them. If I was going to murder someone I would prefer to do it slowly and painfully. Like all of my procedures.
