Is it normal i'm scared of the garbage chute in my apartment

So yeah I'm still staying at the condo I grew up in and I was afraid of the garbage chute in my house as a kid - from a kids view it's this huge, metallic door you put your junk in that falls into an abyss of darkness and horrible things. I read in the news of how someone threw dead body parts into a water tank and poisoned a whole building's water supply. I'm 20 now and I know it's dumb but I'm scared of that damn garbage chute at night when I throw things I'm scared bugs and body parts will be there. So when I throw things at night I'll thow it then run outta there like there's a zombie/ghost on my tail. it's only this chute. Is this a normal irrational fear gosh.

    What about the toilet monster?

To tell you the truth I'm still creeped out by the garbage disposal in the sink.
