Is it normal i make the same noise after almost every sentence?

For as long as I can remember, I've made a certain noise after almost every sentence I say. It's just a little 'umph' noise but it bothers me now that I've noticed it. I don't think about it when I do it it just comes out naturally. Most of the time I don't even notice it. It mostly happens when I'm talking to other people and I feel anxious. Is it normal because I don't know why I do it.

Habit: Cue -> Routine -> Reward
end of sentence -> make noise -> eases anxiety

You can't change the cue or reward of a habit, but you can change the routine. Try closing your lips shut next time you get that cue, and get into that routine.

I knew a guy at work who did that for 40 years without realising. He only found out at his sons wedding speech that they recorded and he heard back. It drove him crazy trying to stop doing it but it just made it worse, he eventually killed himself in his garage from exhaust fumes.

We used to rip the piss out of him for doing it, we all called him Briiiiiihhhhhan. Cunt.

You should do it when you write 'umph'. I think it would really make your sentences more interesting 'umph'. What do you think 'umph'. I think I actually kinda like it 'umph'. I might even start doing it when I speak and write 'umph'.
