Is it normal i might become homeless in a month?

So here is the deal. I am getting kicked out of my place in a month. I currently have no where else to go at the moment. I have a job but its seasonal and shorter than I thought. I have to get out since I got in a fight with my room mate and called the cops and now I have to leave(They got violent and started breaking things). Ill have about 2400 dollars after the temp job is over. I dont know if they are going to hire me back on and I not sure how to find a new room mate. What should I do?

Seasonal workers can get unemployment after the second season.
I wouldn't be too worried, California is the ultimate 'nanny' state. Check out the state programs for the homeless and I'm sure you will find one that suits your situation. Hell, even the illegals get all kinds of government handouts in Cal.
However, it's a real bitch to evict someone in most states and I bet even more so in Cal. I've heard of folks who stayed more than a year rent free before the landlord was able to legally evict the tenant.

    • So I can get unemployment after seasons up? Also California really isnt if you lived here you would know. The problem is they give the welfare services to illegals not REAL AMERICANS. Your assumption are not rooted in reality but I dont know anything about unemployment. For a real American to get services you need to be physically/mentally disabled, served in military, have a kid, be married. There is not a lot of homeless shelters that help people who do not meet any of this criteria. In fact there a lot of legitimately homeless who were turned down for not meeting it.

I read a lot about the state I was born in and used to love.
But hey, if you want to argue with someone trying to help, I'll just shut my fucking stupid ass mouth, and you can go live under a fucking overpass, for all I care.

        • Well you obviously did not do very good research since I already researched this subject. As well as know a lot of people who work for these type of company's. They want you to fit one of these criteria 90% of the time.

Its extremely rare to find one that will just take in homeless people without some kind of other thing going on. There is also programs for misplaced gays but its for gay people.

So if you dont fit the correct minority California thinks you dont need help. I actually found other programs that dont require any of this but they are always on the other half of the country in the east coast. So obviously the east coast cares more about the poor than the West coast does.

Throw some pity on them fools at your workplace and start applying to other jobs now, while you're still employed. Many companies get busy around the holidays and I believe hiring peaks in December.

If you live in new York 2400 isn't shit and you are fucked. Where I'm at that plenty to drop on an efficiency/studio apartment.

You can buy a tent, eat caned food, camp out, shower at rest stops. Sleep in your own vehicle. Start looking for another job. Start looking for an apartment within your price range, a lot of the times cheaper studio apartments are taken. You'll have to plan for your future and keep things lined up

    • I think I might try the tent thing and I really can not afford a car. I live in California.

Jeezy, no vehicle. Buy a bike I recently bought an 18 speed Raleigh for $500 it's not bad.

If you'll go the tent route then buy a bike from the pain shop for cheap and some WD40 and buy also a hikers backpack $80 or so and it'll be getting cold soon so you might want to look into a Coleman Lantern it'll produce heat fuel a bike lock. Rough it and make sure it all fits in your backpack. Canned salmon is cheap and quality protein

Focus on finding a new job and consider living in your car while parked at a resting area.

Buy camping gear and live in a warehouse. Walmart has everything you need.
