Is it normal i never mow the grass when it's wet?

I would much rather mow my lawn when it's dry and easier to cut. Even if the grass is getting long, I figure it's better to just wait until it's a little dryer.

It started raining as I was mowing, so I stopped and went inside. Told a friend over Skype about it and he got an attitude, saying he has mowed grass in the rain several times.

I never really thought about this. Is it normal to just wait for a clear day, or do people commonly mow their grass no matter what the weather is?

And which way is best?

I know of no one who mows the lawn while wet or raining. Even if it's not raining but the grass is wet, it clogs up the chute and clumps up under the mower deck and is a pain in the ass to later clean off.

Am I the only one that thought this was a double entendre?
