When I have to go I just kneel over the toilet, I don't actually like sitting on the toilet.

I never sit on the toilet either.
I usually shit in the neighbors yard and blame it on the dog.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!!! I wouldn't call it "normal" per se but it's certainly not doing any harm.

I used to be like this with public toilets, now I'm not so pedantic. As long as the seat is clean or can be wiped clean I will sit on that shit. No pun intended.
