Is it normal i run the tap in the washroom?

I have a habit that I don't recall when I picked It up but it was years ago . I have to run the tap water when sitting down and using the washroom . I don't know if anyone does this or why I do it but I am wondering IIN? do others do this as well? It feels more private to me maybe or calming .. maybe both?

    I don't do this myself but I've known of family and friends who do it; in one case, so others couldn't hear if he WASN'T able to take a piss right away.

    I've heard of people doing it when they don't want people just outside the bathroom to hear them pee, plop or toot. Heheh

      what if I leave the window open so the dirty birdies can come in and bath while I am in there?

        I will come in and splash around in the sink causing a distraction so no one hears your poop bloop.
