I live right next to a basketball course, and occasionally people will bring young children there which I can hear their screams through my window.
Their high pitched screaming is really annoying, so I open my window and start screaming really loud which usually makes them stop.

As much as I dislike kids, at the end of the day they're still kids. They scream and shout when they play. It's a part of life that one has to deal with. I've stopped caring about telling nosy kids to keep quiet long ago. If I hear noise, I just use my headphones to listen to my music.
Pretending people don't annoy the shit out of you is what makes you an adult. As an adult I am allowed to drink myself into a stupor if the neighbours get too noisy. Balances itself out.
I tell the kids that like to cause a ruckus outside my apartment to shut their traps all the time. I don't mind giving them a bollocking.
