Is it normal i slept on dried menstrual blood for two days

I had a really heavy flow on this month's menstrual cycle and I messed up my sheets and instead of removing the sheet I placed a T-shirt over the dirty area and slept like that for 2 days because I was so lazy to change the sheets. Is this normal.

Unless someone else is sleeping in your bed, then why should they care?

Don't be so hard on yourself about this: I don't think you were lazy because if you'd had the energy to change the sheets you would've done it.

Ignore the judgmental types on here and the idiots who are back in the middle ages with their attitudes that menstrual discharge is dangerous or gross or disgusting - it's natural or it wouldn't happen, idiots

Exactly. It's blood, not piss for christ's sake.

To be pedantic, most of it isn't even blood, although that's one component. Contact with it doesn't weaken men; curdle the cream or stop the butter from churning properly,; or put the hens off the lay and nor does it have any more magical qualities than other body secretions - eg snot, which can contain nasty bacteria.

I don't reckon piss on the sheets would be too terrible either if someone just didn't feel well enough to change them and there was no-one else to do it: eventually it'd evaporate and as long as it didn't soak through to the mattress, what's the big deal? If shit, I'd get those sheets off the bed pronto & into the washing machine even if I had to then sleep on the bare mattress or on the floor!

No. You'll get a infection. And it's just gross.

Menstrual blood isn't infectious in fact most of it isn't even blood

Let me rephrase myself: No. It's dirty and doesn't it smell? It'd be better for you to get clean sheets. If you have trouble doing this, talk to a loved one. It's a bad habit.

She didn't say it's a habit, sounds like it only happened once and she just couldn't get the energy together to change the sheets

    No. That's... no...

    Just change your sheets, okay?

That's normal, I do that with a lot of things (if it goes to the matress i recommend turning it around) dont worry.

I don't know what everyone's problems are, that's absolutely normal. I didn't realise until I read the comments that this could be considered gross! It's fine as long as there's not a huge puddle or patch because that will stain if you don't wash it straight away and people may notice.

It is NORMAL. Sometimes you just can't get the blood out and you have to sit on it or lay in that matter.

  • I can't imagine the smell. I won't even wear pads because the idea of sitting in my blood all day disgusts me and you essentially slept in a pad

Didn't it smell badly? No, it's not normal.

No. Change your sheets and wash them when you're up. Don't put it off. Make the time.

I get where you're coming from (I have heavy periods too), but it's just better to change them. I usually have a towel under my lower half when I sleep just in case something like that happens, and get a new pad before I go to sleep.

It sounds weird, but I recommend the 'adult urinary' pads (I think I use Poise) if your flow is really that big. I accidentally bought them once and only noticed when my mom told me specifically what it was. It's not their intended purpose, but it's exactly like a pad in every way and covers everything. I'd recommend it - if you use pads.
