Is it normal i still think about this moment?
Admittedly it’s not a big deal but it’s still pretty annoying.
So a few years back my grandpa had a lot of health issues. One day me and my mom were going to stay in the hospital waiting room for hours on end, and since I still owned a portable DVD player I decided to bring it along with me and watch my extended Lord of the Rings movies while there and on the way home.
My sisters were there for a bit but went home earlier and one of them asked me what movie I brought and when I answered “lord of the rings” the both of them said “lame” at the exact same time and seemed impressed by that. One of them told me I needed to get some new obsessions and she thought Star Wars was cooler. My only response was that they were long movies, but thinking back this was frustrating for a few reasons.
Obviously it’s annoying when people make fun of you for liking things, but it’s extra annoying because neither of them have even seen all of the movies, plus I was going to be there for like 4 hours so it was the ideal movie choice and they seemed to just ignore that.
Tbf we were all pretty sour because of our grandpa and sometimes people acts like jerks when bad stuff is happening. But sometimes when I try to experience lord of the rings I think back to that moment and how rude they were being.
Like I said it’s not important but it’s still a frustrating memory I have.
