Is it normal i think broke back mountain is a very bad representation of gays?

All this movie says is that gays are cheaters, they don't have a sense of commitment at all, and are happy to use other people. I understand this apparently represents homosexuals but does the entire gay community really want to be painted as immoral?

The movies starts off with two men. One has a family and kids and one day decides to cheat with his buddy on a camping trip. The two make this a regular occurrence. The wife trys to convince him not to leave since she knows he is going out just to cheat on her. You see how hurt the wife is since he is cheating. Yet despite her trying to stop him from leaving she doesn't in the beginning confront him about it but knows what hes doing.

The other man says he will leave everything for the one man if man A leaves his wife and family. the first man doesn't want to make a choice and says "No lets leave it the way it is" so is basically using the other guy for sex and cheating on his heart broken wife and doesn't give a shit about how either of them feel.

Just because the story revolves around two homosexuals, doesn't mean it's intended to represent all homosexuals. They're two human characters, with human flaws.

If anything, it's a reflection on the cultural homophobia still present in a lot of areas of the US (especially prevalent in the Deep South).

Well, with that logic, "Pretty Woman" proves all women are prostitutes and "E.T." proves that even aliens don't have the wherewithal to the avoid Reese's Pieces, despite them not being very good in any sense of the word good.

Why does every movie with homosexual characters have to be representative?

It was telling a story of a time and place where homosexuality was extremely taboo. Oh course they had to sneak around and cheat. You missed the entire point.

I don't think you understood the movie at all. I believe you completely missed the point and what the writer and director were trying to express.
There has been quite a lot written about this flick and if you are interested in exploring it in a bit more depth, you could find some pretty interesting opinions on it.

Sounds like it was made by straight people.

As with every medium of expressive art, you are going to find different depictions. Think of the film as singular and not universal.

It's just a movie. It's not supposed to represent anything.
