Is it normal i think my freinds number is bugged or something?

I recently was going to see a friend of mine as well as that scored them a job interview at a warehouse. They work at McDonald but only get paid 8dollar an hour and this place pays 10 an hour and have long hours. So a lot more money. However recently someone else I did not know called me on their phone and started asking me all these questions.

I was too scarred of what the answer might have been to ask them how they knew my friend. So I just kind of answered the questions and was really confused. 2 hours after this happen my friend texts me saying "Do you still want to hang out". I told them no and good luck on the interview.

They never answer phone calls since they said their phone has been broken for a long time. They also did not really respond when I said someone else had called me on the phone which either means they let it happen and dont care, or its still the other person whos not really my friend. I really scarred and confused. Who could possibly be messaging me? If its not my friend. I know for a fact this is their number since I called them on it before and went to their house to help him and his family on the ranch. I really have no clue whats going on anymore. Whats going on here?
