Is it normal i to have these bad habits every few weeks?

Sometimes I can get lazy or a bit down or maybe just super busy and I don't have a bath for 3 days in a row (in one of those slumps rn) I spray perfume and wash my face. I don't always brush my teeth, only in the mornings. Some days I don't use facewash. If I am sad my room will be untidy, papers on the bed and clothes on the floor. I sort this out once a month but it happens again.

  • Sounds like depression. I tend to lose motivation when it hits me too except I still brush my teeth and take a shower everyday but I don’t feel like doing anything either. If it’s a problem for you and bothers you speaking to a doctor on ways to control it (meds or whatever) may be a good option.

    • Thanks for that input but nah, meds have more side effects than you know, it will actually make my health worse. I function perfectly for work so I don't have severe depression where I feel like I want to talk to anyone.

I went to a shrink once and she was annoying as hell, kept asking annoyingly obvious questions we both knew the answers to, but she kept adding "how do you feel" to that and TBH I don't think my feelings will change the answers to logical questions.

I was depressed before and that's how this cycle started but I can't seem to break it. It's become habitual.

      • I tried meds but once I upped the dose it made me much worse so I quit and didn’t try again. I have heard of it causing more problems for some.
That does seem weird tho but then again when mine hits I barley do anything only thing is mine usually hits me randomly with no reasoning and sometimes lasts months. But yours seems more often and sounds like a pain I wish it was more controllable.

    It's not normal, or healthy.
    But it happens.
    The fact you recognize it.
    Is a big difference.
Try to fight your way past it.
Make it a game if it helps.
Like, if you watch t.v. etc.
    Just decide.
No t.v. until my teeth are brushed.
No coffee until after I shower.
    Hope it helps.

It's not normal, unless you are suffering from depression.

If it's once a month consider that it might be hormonal depression. Go see a GP if it's free or stopping you from doing regular things in your life.

Same here. But I'm pretty sure it's not normal

I kind of wish there was a name for it. That would make researching this, talking about this, or finding other people who go through the same thing easier
