Is it normal i took care of my bfs cat for a week now it wont leave me alone??

Im a girl and live with my bf he went out of state for a week cause of work so ofc I had to take care of his cat. I wasnt mean or anything to the cat before it didnt bother me and i didnt bother it. so this month one week I fed it and changed its litter and petted it if it jumped on my lap when I watched tv or let it cuddle next to my body when I slept. Now my bfs back and the cat rarely goes to him. I go to the bathroom and the cat follows me even taking a shower it will sit and watch me even though it cant see through the shower curtain atleast I think it cant. If im out and come home the cat runs to me even if it was with my bf or sleeping and my bf laughs and says hes jealous and asks me what I did to the cat when he was gone but I did nothing!! I dont even like cats how the hell do I make this little pest leave me alone?

"My boy friend's cat and you're gonna get a greeting, hey la de la, my boy friend's cat." Sound's some old song. Wait, it is some old song.

Maybe the cat is disappointed that he left? Make sure from here on out that your boyfriend does all the feeding, and cat care so he can bond back with him again.

Yea I agree with RoseIsabella sometimes animals get mad and act out at their owners. I honestly think he's trying to make your bf jealous lol. Seems weird but its been known to happen.

Perhaps the cat has a stronger sense of security when you're around or you treat it better than your boyfriend did/does. I would be mean to the cat. Just try to distract it and express your need to keep distance.

Maybe you should try telling it you need some more space. If it doesn't listen, then file a restraining order against it, but talk things through with it first.

You want the cat to leave alone, ignore it, do nothing for it, teach it of the power of inflecting tonality into the very depth of its soul

Just prefers your behaviourul interactions over his

U know, cats like females more than males, so maybe that's why?
