Is it normal i treat my computer like a human slave?

I hate that my computer loves to fuck up. I've had it for 2 years, but it still screws up frequently. I treat my computer as a slave because I own it and I expect it to work for me. When it screws up, I treat it like an 18th century slave. I threaten it, curse at it, and beat it when it does not work. It infuriates me! I have never permanently broken a computer before, even though I beat it. Any kind of error from all programs makes me act this way. Recently, I have been playing a game that the computer screws up frequently. I have been having more outbursts than usual. I realize that the computer is an inanimate object and runs on programming, but treating it like a human slave helps me to release some of my anger by not holding it in all the time. I don't care how many programs or tabs I need to have open, the computer has to work! Is this normal and does anyone else feel this way?

    Friends -

I promise you, there is a short bus somewhere out there that has at least 100 of the OP's boogers wiped on the windows.

Pop two keys out and put nipple clamps on the buttons, then make it watch you masterbate.

I'm embarrassed to say that I sometimes do the same, lol. Your description can fit my behaviour pretty much perfectly. I obviously don't believe my computer is alive either, but it just comes out with the anger. When I first started acting like that I scared myself a little. I sounded like an abusive spouse and I questioned whether it was possible I could ever become like that in a relationship. I know I wouldn't though, I can only be like that when I know there are no victims, just like I can kill people with a chainsaw in a video game without a second thought. I think this is good evidence that we all have a natural tendency towards animism, treating inanimate objects as if they're alive.

You can also starve it... Pull the power cable out of the socket and make that silicon bitch suffer!

Question: Are you dumb? Computers are very sensitive machines and beating them will only result in more damage. Also you can not expect to open 100 tabs, 10 programs and a bunch of other shit and have any computer work perfect.

To keep a computer at optimal health, shut it down when you are done using it, don't leave it on standby, have a good antivirus system and don't install software from questionable places.

98% of the time, the operator is at fault when a computer goes wrong. The remaining two percent is defective hardware.

Also if you wanna vent anger, buy a punching bag.

I blame you more than the computer. It is never the computer's fault. It's either the program or the owner, not the computer.

Fallacy! If we're talking my computer it is its fault, if it's my mom's it's hers for accepting whatever terms a dialogue box asks her to say yes to and she does.

How is it, in any way, a computer's fault under any circumstances?

Depends if you are a mac boy fan or a pc fan.

No it's not normal but I'm also not gonna tell you not to do it. More power to you.

Beating up on the computer will mess up the hard drive at least and do other untold damage. Grow up and act like an adult.

Save what you need then reinstall from scratch. That will probably do more good than anything else.

As a teen I slapped my fist into my laptop so hard when it frooze that the harddrive broke once. Jokes on me though I hadn't backed anything up because I was a dumb teenager who didn't think about such things. At least I got a new harddrive for free thanks to insurance.

Sure. Anything that doesn't work sucks. Ditch it and stop wasting yours and our time.
