Is it normal i unsure of what to do since everything i knew was wrong?

We are told that if you try hard enough and apply enough someone will pick you up for a job. Even if you are right out of HS at 18 years of age. You are given tips on how to write and told this is what employers want to hear and persistence will get you a job. I found out however that is not true and even if you perform well on a job the company can still fire you.

I know a good percent of finding a job has always been "Luck" above all. However when what you were told was correct was all a sham what exactly do you do? You cant say no or yes to anything since you don't know if it will pan out. I got a guard certificate since everyone said they hired you but I been in and out of stocking/Factory/Warehouse work and no one has hired me permanent. The Security companys wont even bother looking at me since I dont have two years of experience.

When 1000s of applications only produce you one job what exactly are you suppose to do? I would get another certificate but after spending 300$ on security guard card certificates and being told it doesnt mean anything I am really wary that anything is worth your money anymore. I can not get a job in anything else and Its not like I really have family or friends to help me out.

It's all about what you bring to the table. If you are looking for a well paying job, it is about skills. Since you are 18 you have to prove to the company that you provide a unique skill, or you are reliable and will show up for work without complaint.

If you lack in skills, I hate to say it, you may wish to enlist in the military and learn a skill at the governments expense and get some direction in life.

It's going to get tougher out there looking for a job with obama care/mandatory medical law killing jobs, over regulations also killing jobs, and if hillary gets elected and keeps her promise to tax the rich who provide jobs, these jobs will also be gone. So find what you are good at and improve on it. Good luck, kid!

I got my job by flat-out lying and just showing up to a random interview. Now I am a manager of a franchise store and they pay me really well even though I probably only know about 40% of what I am doing.

    • Interviews are not random. They have to look at your resume/application and decide if they like you. If you dont get an interview you dont get a chance at the job.

Shows what you know. With an attitude like that I'm not surprised you can't land a job
