Is it normal i want a pussy barn when i retire?

I love cats and I'm thinking of maybe breeding Siamese or Persians a few times a year to make extra money after I retire. When they are not breeding they will live in the house and when the skinny has kittens they can stay in the nice little barn with toys and blankets. Is this weird ? I don't see why not cause I'd only have maybe two or three females and one male. Please comment.

You'll have to do some research to see if you need some kinda license...I'm pretty sure that with purebreds, there's some type of verification process.

You also need to be responsible for the kittens, and the mom cat.

Have you done research on when to seperate the tom cat from the kittens? (Sometimes they'll kill the kittens)

Have you done research on the appropriate diet for momma cats, and weening kittens?

Have you done research on how frequently the momma cat can give birth?

Do you have adequate money in case any medical problems occur for momma or kittens?

Do you have a plan to take care of the kittens or find them a good home if they aren't adopted?

Will you be able to handle not getting overly attached to the kittens?

Do you plan on providing vaccinations for the kittens before they are adopted? If not, they can be at risk for contracting FIV, amoung other things if they are not kept strictly indoors.

Have you set up a budget for expenses and possible expenses?

Have you figured out where/how you're going to sell the kittens?

You need to do a lot, a lot of research before you commit to this, as you will be responsible for the lives and health of a bunch of cute fuzzies.

If you got all your bases covered, I don't see why not. It could be a totally awesome job...cause kittens!!!

Hey no I'm not a troll I just used the opener to get more replies:). I have a lot of info about cats and have had several kitty mamas before. I definitely would only breed the kitties maybe twice per year and sell them to people I hopefully know. As for the permits that's what I have to find out but I won't retire for a few years yet. Thanks for the reply.

Hahaha. I just assumed because of the title! Anywho, it seems like it would be an awesome retirement venture. I volunteered at a shelter, but I had to leave cause I got too attached to the animals.

I don't even know if you would call it a license??? But you know, those purebred cat people want all the paperwork to make sure the cat is all inbred and 100% legit Siamese or whatever, so they can put it in cat shows and shit.
