Is it normal i want a relationship like taran and eilonwy in the black cauldron?

Incase you don’t know, The Black Cauldron is a Disney movie from the 80s, and one that didn’t reach the same mainstream success as a lot of their other films, but has gained a cult following over the years.

The main character of the movie is Taran, and his love interest is Princess Eilonwy. Unlike normal Disney fashion, the whole movie doesn’t revolve around him trying to rescue her, and it doesn’t focus on her trying to find love. Instead it focuses on the both of them going through an adventure together, and both take turns saving each other.

What I like about them is that they’re a team. They do have a rough patch at one part, but neither one really tries to come out on top of the other and they both work together throughout the movie, and at time Eilonwy does stand up to Taran when he’s being foolish, but it never feels forced or anything like that.

I’d like a relationship as cooperative and exciting as theirs, and where we help each other through hardships in equal amounts, instead of just one of us doing all the hard work.

    My husband and I are a team in as much as we support each other to achieve our goals. But he is in charge, that is how nature intended the world. He will always have the last word and I will always comply with his final decision or face the consequences of going against his wishes.
