Is it normal i wanted to do a lot of “adult things” when i was 10 years old?

I know the first thing a lot of you are thinking when you see “adult things” is sex, and while that was a part of it, it’s not the only thing. I wanted to drive a car, own a house, and have a job, all at the age of 10, and didn’t understand why I had to be older to do those things, so I chalked it up to some type of prejudice.

Now I’m almost 21, and I understand a bit more about brain development and things like that, but I still think that kids aren’t as stupid as people think (some of them anyway) and I’m mad at myself for having been lazy and not at least TRYING to do more things on my own to prove to adults that I was more capable than they thought, but there’s nothing I can do about that now.

The absolute only thing that mattered to me when I was 10 was whether or not I was allowed to get a pet pig.
If you had asked me to choose between getting a pig or having infinite wealth, I would’ve chosen the pig.

I also would have sold my soul if it meant I was the only person allowed to blow out all the candles before bedtime

So I really don’t trust children’s judgement in most any case, maybe you were a special exception buuuuut I don’t think the average child has reasonable priorities
