Is it normal i wish i could tell all cyclists....

Hey, you road hogs! I wanted to let you know that if it comes down to me hitting you or hitting another car I will choose to hit YOU. I will not slam on my brakes, I will not swerve into an oncoming vehicle. You will be screwed. You are traveling on a curvy road with limited visibility and you are going to get yourselves or someone else killed, you morons!

Please stay to the side of the road. I can't see you until I am right behind you sometimes, do you not realize this?

I'm not sure where highway 11 is but your attitude stinks. You would rather take a life than damage your car? Who taught you that this was okay. So sorry the cyclist delayed you a few moments, clearly he should be punished severly for this.

I know that some cyclists ride in the middle of the road and they can be hard to pass. But what does the side of the road look like? You want him ro share the road yet you don't seem willing to do the same.

    • It's STUPID to get in a head on collision with another car, risking ALL lives involved rather than plow the cyclist. When in my car, I am usually not alone, and often my children are with me. Who is in the other car? There's potentially 5 or more people in there! When the cars collide, the cyclist is in danger as well! So you're saying it's smarter to hit the other car, risking numerous lives in the process instead of (possibly-he may be able to get out of the way, or not be injured too badly) hitting the cyclist?

I would not hit them for no reason. I am saying if it came down to it, IF I came up on a cyclist around a curve where I didn't have time to slow and there was another car coming in the opposite direction, I most definitely WILL stay on course and probably hit the cyclist unless he can leap out of the way. So they need to be mindful of cars when cycling on a curvy road with limited visibility.

Yet you feel no need to be mindful if them? They have every right to use the road. The way you speak, you are putting lives in danger every time you drive. Pay attention.

        • I AM mindful but in low visibility areas what more can I do? I am alert and aware there may be a cyclist but there's only so much I can do without becoming a danger myself. If I see a cyclist and suddenly slam on my brakes around a blind curve and another car is coming behind me then that's more dangerous as well. They have the right to use the road but they need to stay to the sides and be prepared to move if cars are coming that can't slow or stop in time. A car going far slower than the speed limit is still going much faster than a cyclist and it's unreasonable to expect that the car can or will slow down in time and it's also completely stupid for the car to swerve into another car to potentially avoid the cyclist as there's much more risk of life in that scenario.

In my experience, if the cyclist isn't using the side of the road, there is a reason for it. Loose gravel and potholes are dangerous for the cyclist.

I feel your pain, I really do. But they too deserve some considetation. Putting everyone in a car won't solve the problem. And creating common sense laws only tempts more division on the issue.

Cyclists seem to think that being in the right gives them some sort of magic protection and often challenge careless drivers with their presence, blocking..not giving way etc. They are so righteous that they don't stop to think that in a collision the person in the right is unimportant..right or wrong the cyclist will lose..how often have you heard.."and in a collision with a cycle the driver of a car was killed".NOT FUKIN' OFTEN CHUM!

Please do not use -ists or -isms.

    Thank you.

    A bicycle is a vehicle.

A vehicle, is a type of machine.

A person who operates a bicycle, is usually called a rider.

A bicycle rider is subject to following the Rules of the Road (which vary from region to region).

A 'motor vehicle' operator usually has additional responsibilities when meeting, passing and overtaking bicycle riders. Please check your local legislation.

Doctors and hospitals are very expensive.

Perhaps we should make a law, where the person who is deemed to be 'at fault', should pay for the preceding?

Fuck yea. I hate when they use their stupid hand signals. the bike lane is made for them they shouldn't b on the road where they can get hit by a car more easily.
