Is it normal i wonder why unis get 60% of funds from gov but are expensive?

If universities get 60% of funds from government and students pay for books and everything they need to attend to school why are they so expensive? Shouldn't they be free or at least cheaper. Some of the universities like Yale get the most money from the government so why do they charge so much to attend?

  • This past semester at my uni, one of my professors would quite often make snarky remarks about the corruption of upper-level management at our uni. Schools are essentially businesses; with greedy men and women (mostly men) at the top who don't give a fuck about the students but who do care about pocketing an extra half million or so.

    • No just the schools getting the most money from government are more expensive. Would that not indicate it be cheaper?

It's a racket in the first place. There are fewer jobs when you get out. Go into healthcare industry.
