Is it normal if you can't remember anything?

I mean I think it is normal to have a bad short-term memory or long-term memory but for me its like both. I also think I have a learning disability. I can study for hrs (even tho I never did ef that) and focus really hard ace that test or whatever. Then its all gone. It gets even worse. I graduated but to be honest, I feel no different. Yeah I learned big, broad things but stuff that I know I went over so many times, I have to go back and learn it all over again. Or like small items like addresses, phone numbers, it will take A LOT to remember that. Also events, moments, etc. So when I'm entering data at work, I look dumb cause I forgot something that I was just given to a second ago as if I'm not paying attention or I'm slow. Everything is a challenge for me basically because I feel like I have to learn it all over again at the moment. Mentally challenged? Idk. Learning disability? I wanna say yes. So what can you do in my case? Especially for a job/career if I have a serious memory problem/learning disability/possibly mentally challenged? My ultimate dream career is to be an entertainment reporter. I love entertainment and I think it's fun. But it is news and I feel like I'll mess up delivering news by delivering something I just said, or looking like I don't know something but it's because I don't remember it.

Instances of short term memory means you didn't get enough 'rehearsal time' with the information. Your brain simply didn't process the info enough to commit it to a long term memory.

It's pretty normal and happens to many people.

In my case we call it "old timer's disease". Oh course, if you aren't an old timer, you'll have to find another excuse. Too much speed, crack, crank or whatever? Or perhaps you are one of those MMA idiots (literally, after just a couple of bouts) who has had all his brain cells bashed to the point of uselessness.

  • Don't worry. Most reporters are mentally challenged.
