Is it normal im considering military service

I am a woman in my 20s and i've been thinking about applying for military service lately. I am sick of my useless life, i'm very depressed but I can hide it well.
I am on the autism spectrum so I could need the independence and challenge myself. I want to do this to myself.
If a world war happens then i'll be prepared.

Join the navy or airforce. Less physically intensive. Oh I know "females are just as strong as women" its bullshit when you think of it practically. Can you fireman carry someone who was shot with all of their gear in tow? I sure as shit cant. Thus navy.

Plus I think women can take 15 minutes to do the 1.5 mile run. Which is more like a brisk fast walk.

It's just as good as the other services every branch has its field it excels at. People think military and instantly think army. When you could be a hospital corpsman in a cushy office in japan.

    Good stuff.

If it doesn’t work out I can always use another human shield.

Only join the military if you genuinely want to. As I've always say to posts like these don't join just for the sake of joining.

Understand and ask yourself why you want to go there.

Doesent even have to be a fleshed out reason. No shame in doing it for a steady income and benefits.

Hell I just wanted some travel with a decent income. Helped me flesh my own charicter out too. It's a great adventure to go on to move out of your parents house after highschool when you dont have any idea what you wanna do with your life.

I would say that given your autistic tendencies that you are likely much better off in some form of support unit, which actually make up a good portion of all of the armed forces.

You need to research the various branches and decide what you would like to do.

One warning though based on my personal experience: "Join the Navy and See the World" was an advertising slogan back in the mid 1970's.

If you talked to the Navy Recruter and asked him about if you would get a chance to see the world... they would tell you that if you stay in 4-6 years that you would have a good chance to see most of the world if you switched your duty station between oceans (Atlantic Ocean and Pacific ocean service). In those days you could request a transfer about half way through your enlistment period.

They forget to remind you that 3/4 of the world is water... I've seen a lot of water while in the US Navy.

Not sure that it adds up to "most of the world" - but there is no real excitement or difference between what the different oceans and seas look like once out of sight of land.

I cannot say that the recruitment slogan or what the recruiter told me was a lie though.
