Is it normal in the big city to leave your curtains open?

Is it normal in the big city where everyone is anonymous....to not even close the curtains or the blinds and just go on about your personal business inside your apartment, thinking "I don't know them and they don't know me" so what does it matter if they use a telescope to catch me in my underwear or my birthday suit? I like to watch people with my own telescope sometimes. It's entertaining, like reality TV.

I live in manhattan. An exhibitionist by no means, but I hate feeling cooped up so my curtains are always pulled back. I'm sure my neighbors have seen me naked multiple times, which I'm not happy about, but in the end I'd still rather deal with that than not get to see the tree outside or let any sunshine in.

  What's creepy about going outside naked? I'm outside naked right now in the privacy of my enclosed back yard feeling the warm sun and gentle breezes on my entire body. Feels so good, peaceful, relaxing for the body and the mind, except when the small planes from the local airport start circling overhead.

      When I'm naked in my enclosed back yard I'm not forcing myself on anybody. I agree with you about standing in my window masturbating, that would be a "no no"! In my twenties I used to drive around the city exposing myself at crosswalks, etc, but after almost getting caught by a couple of teenaged girls who apparently didn't appreciate seeing me I redirected my activities to places where people DO want to see: adult video arcades and nude beaches, for example.

Some people are voyeurs and some are exhibitionists. Some are both. If you don't like for others having their blinds open, you wouldn't know that if your blinds are closed.

Close the bottom half of your blinds. You will be able to see them, but they will only see you from the shoulders on up.
