Is it normal my boyfriend will refuse to shower for weeks?

My boyfriend will go without taking a shower for weeks and go as far as refusing to take a shower! I kick him out of the bed and make him sleep on the couch. Sprayed him with vinegar because he hates vinegar in hopes he'll take a shower. Put some oily hair stuff in his hair (that actually worked once). He is an electrician and does manual labor, so most days he comes home covered in dirt and drenched with sweat. His excuse or reason why he won't take a shower is because tomorrow he's just going to get all dirty again...!! Please help me convince him to take more showers!

Dealbreaker...unless zombie apocalypse, of course. Also, I couldn't help but wonder about your sex life while reading this. No need for details, it just crossed my mind, is all.

    • No sex until he showers. When he does he cleans up nicely.

So he would rather go weeks at a time without having sex with you then take a shower? That speaks volumes to how he feels about you and the overall state of your relationship.

Apply his logics to toilet paper. Tell him he isn't going to use anything to wipe his ass because it will just get dirty again.

Let's see what he does next.

How absolutely desperate does this post make you sound? You are living with a guy with zero personal hygiene and you haven't thrown him out?
I think you are the loser in this relationship.

Are part of a group of: -People with no benefit to the earth or human society. -The adjective shallow can describe things that aren't very deep, like a shallow puddle, or people who don't have much emotional or intellectual depth, like shallow people who judge others based on their looks.

I'm judging you by what you posted. If you don't like it, then don't post this shit.
If you are so desperate for human companionship that you will live with a stinking pig, well that's on you, not me.

That's pretty disgusting. Do you still have sex with him even though he's stinky? I hope not

A woman I know had a husband who was a garbage collector, so all day he would be running around neighborhoods lifting bins and bags and riding on the back of the truck in searing Texas heat. You bet she made him shower as soon as he got home.

Just because you'll get dirty tomorrow is no excuse. You wash because you don't want to stink, your partner doesn't want you to stink, and it also feels GOOD to be clean! And why doesn't he want to clean up for his girlfriend? If he won't do it, it can be a deal breaker for you. No matter how handsome and nice a guy is, if he doesn't care enough to clean up for you, who would he clean up for? How can you be intimate when he doesn't wash? That is just to gross.

all those people saying dump him don't know how to help your loved ones when they find it difficult to leave a bad habit, all they know is abandoning, i hope you don't do this, world is full of heartless people now is time to promote harmony in the world

My one roommate I had in the late 90's was grody like that. he walked around in a dirty pair of briefs all day. I am surprised he didn't have fleas. One day we got fed up dumped my exes bath stuff all over him and hosed him off.

Well when the stench starts getting to you, you will either leave or take a garden hose and douche him as he sleeps. And so if he doesnt shower for 3 months you still let him play hide the weewee in the gfs vajayjay ? Thats just nasty, and very unsanitary.

So why not tell him your getting naked and in the shower, and he is welcome to join you, will he or would he prefer to lay down and continue to attract flies ?
