Is it normal my butt has some odor after a bowel movement?

This is not something I want to discuss, but I'm tired of wondering if I'm just paranoid or if I have a legitimate concern. When I have a bowel movement, it frequently is not a very clean event. I am on zoloft (for anxiety/ocd) and it does cause stomach upset at times. Anyways, I make sure to wipe very thoroughly. However, sometimes I don't feel "clean" and a little while later I have to wipe even though I did not have a bowel movement. Anyways, even when I wipe clean, I have a degree of OCD (clinically diagnosed) and I will check to see if the toilet paper I wiped with has an odor. Often times it does and at work, I notice it. My family has never said anything and nobody at work either but I'm not sure if anyone can notice. I know this is lengthy but I only feel really clean after a shower. I honestly wish Americans used bidets because I would fully support it.

    I have anxiety disorder and am sometimes overly concerned about cleanliness, hygiene, and body odor.
    I always hate when I have to take a dump right after I get out of the shower. I'd just feel cleaner crapping then showering.
    I too would love to have a bidet to wash my ass like that after ever dump.

    Baby wipes are definitely good for this. But it's not like anyone is going to be able to smell your ass throughout the day unless you literally did not wipe.

    Use wipes. I think most toilet goers probably have this problem. The anus usually has some type of smell unless thoroughly cleaned. Save up for a bidet.

      Yea I want a bidet. I just wish they were common in the US. It really is kind of gross to not wash that area. If you somehow managed to get crap on any other area of your body you would wash it with soap and water. Because it's just gross.

    I don't know...I guess it might be normal for your ass to have ass smell, even if you wipe right. Maybe...you could try baby wipes or something? I don't know; I'm not an ass smell expert.

    Yea, wipes help significantly. I am a pretty paranoid person I have to admit. Thus, my decision to submit such a ridiculous question to this site. Thank god for anonymity.

    At home it's no problem because I can use wipes or just shower. At work.... not so much.

    Seriously.... I wish I could have a bidet. Good thing I am planning to move to japan as an English teacher. This problem would be non existent.
