Is it normal my cat doesn't hunt?

My cat is mainly an indoor cat as anytime I let him outside, I'm there to supervise him. My cat has caught and eaten bugs in my house before (better believe I showered him in praise for it) and he enjoys pouncing his toys. One thing though is that if he ever sees a bird or a bunny in my yard, he will not go after it. He'll notice it and watch it, but he won't do anything about it. Im not complaining and I personally enjoy this trait but I thought cats were natural hunters so I find this to be strange.

If my cat sees a bunny rabbit outside the garden gate he'll just start talking about it. He basically just acts the same about a rabbit as he would a dog or cat that he wants to meet. He's not really an avid hunter, and I prefer it that way. My sister's poodle doesn't even notice a rabbit who's only five away when he goes outside to whiz. I like indoor animals who are not into hunting.

We once found an injured bird, and I literally only had to tell him to leave the little guy alone like once, only once.

Honestly, I'm proud of him for how gentle he is, but he does enjoy torturing spiders.

Some breeds aren't big hunters. Himalayans, Persians and Ragdolls hardly have the instinct. Oddly enough, though they don't care about birds and furry critters ALL cats still will go after snakes.
      How is your kitty doing?

He's doing pretty good, thanks for asking. He turned nine back in February and it kinda scares me. He doesn't try to run out the door whenever I leave the house like when he was young. He used to play fetch better than a lot of dogs when he was young and he barely does it anymore. It seems his favorite activity now is cuddling.

When he was young he used to have this awesome habit of greeting me after work, I would walk in the door to see him descending the stairs with with either a bag of weed or Rosary beads in his mouth. He never spilled the weed or damaged the Rosary beads, it's like he knew what he was doing!

He till loves sushi of course!

I love my pets. Someone gave me a hedgehog! I'm not that familiar with them so for now he's in my sons room. I would never have gotten one myself but my friend couldn't keep him. He's so freakin cute. His names Filiberto☺ill put up his pic with another of my pets:)

I think the big game cats are that is why they don't make good pets.
