Hey. This is Bugs. I notice my comments are often deleted here. I'm not sure how they disappear but I'm guessing either the poster doesn't like what I say or someone reports it.

Anyway it always seems to be the comments I leave that might have upset someone and not the more humorous comments or comments about myself.

Often I will be bluntly honest and tell things how they are instead of sparing peoples feelings. Sometimes feelings must be sacrificed in order to realize how things are. I'm only harsh when I am to give insight into the situation instead of pretending everything will be ok.

    The same people on this website always hide my comments when I comment on their posts.

    I rarely delete comments. The only reason I do is because the user is either being a stupid troll (not funny), spam, perverted or just plain rude.

    I understand that some people are just joking around, and usually that doesn't bother me, but still, sometimes people cross the line.

    I don't feel guilty if I do delete comments because as it is stated in every post, you have the right to delete anything you don't like.

      No, it's just annoying to put effort into replying to comments only to have them deleted. I would actually prefer the person to who I was writing to delete it so that they actually read it but I don't like people interfering with my communication.

    I've never seen your comments as mean-spirited they're usually pretty neutral, funny& helpful. Must've just a troll or someone mad, but the mods.. Well, As its been said before dont really seem to give a crap about all the people abusing the new system.. But you could try to tell then in feedback if you haven't already.. It's a small chance but still.

    I notice this also happens on YouTube, about 50% of my comments disappear with no reason yet I still get notifications on the comment chain which is pretty annoying

    It happens to me every so often too.

    Your comments are straightforward and you always appear to take the time to give the post's question serious consideration before commenting. You state your opinions and you're never pushy about it, from what I've seen. I enjoy reading your input and it's unfair your comments are deleted strictly because the anonymous author disagreed with you.

    I suppose some OPs want to cherry-pick opinions by deleting the comments that don't fit with their viewpoint. It makes sense to delete troll comments or the unnecessary deranged comments (cleaning the shit off of your post, as one might say). But, it's being a bit hypersensitive to delete comments that respectfully express a strong opinion.

    It's possible this post you've made will show those who are deleting your comments that there is nothing to fear.

    Maybe it's how you're coming across. Maybe you should reread them to see if they could be seen as completely rude?

      I do but sometimes is it impossible to be a bit rude when telling things how they are. This website exists to share unpopular ideas.

    If they don't get that sugar coated response, they delete the comment. It makes me wonder why they even came online for advice in the first place if they can't handle it.

    I get the same. I screenshot the second and third times, cos I considered outing the little worm...but then I couldn't be arsed.

    I don't know why reasonable people would have an issue with you. I don't think I've ever seen you be rude or disrespectful.

    I think some people just are petty little cunts.

    Edit: oh...do you find yourself flagged for moderation over harmless topics? Was discussing that with Counterfeit.Circus and he's had a problem with it...I get flagged for moderation if I dare question the almighty powers that be on this site...

      I've had a couple harmless topics deleted. I've also had topics held for review before being posted but I think they may have contained curse words. It seems like some people will flag anything they don't agree with.

          They should require multiple flags to get taken down. The problem is still someone with multiple computers, or even a special program, can have several IP addresses. There's no way to stop cheating on the internet.

      I would be interested to know who it is as well because I know there was also someone who down votes everything that's polite an helpful while up voting stupid people and jerks but afaik there would be no way to know who it is.. I mean it's fine if its just someone passing through trolling but it seems like it's a long time user (they need that "karma" to even have down voting ability) or someone with multiple accounts like .. Well I won't say there name but some people remember. And they are very persistent which is not simply a "troll"- its a very cynical and manipulative kind of person (which many of the trolls here may pretend to be but you can tell deep down they're not that bad)

        lol. somebody thumbed you down.

        The thumbs feature on comments is harmless so I don't mind that one nor do I even mind the trolls or rude posters.
        The deleting comments only bothers me because it blocks people from being able to communicate with each other. Pretty much anything on the internet is harmless as long as your not sending people viruses to ruin their computer, but the deleting of other peoples stuff is annoying.

          Yeah I can understand something like that getting thumbs down lol. But I liked to use the comments section kind ofthe same way as posting IIN stories - to see if my views/opinions on particular subjects were normal or acceptable to the general public and that's what the thumbs were for.. But now a lot of times they get 0 first then a few days later might have 2 or more then back to 1 so I figured they're just getting trolled now, and not just me.

    I've had a few glitches with posting. I'd post something, refresh the page and it'd be gone - even on my own submissions. I think I've had about two/three deleted comments.
