Is it normal my company imposes fines for being fat?

I Work for a Fortune 500 Company, and a few years ago they went after Smokers and imposed fines in terms of lack of health care credits. Smokers get hit with a $1600 fine (or reduction in benefits)

This year they are targeting slightly overweight people.
It's a $500 fine if you don't meet their BMI requirement and the fine will increase every year.

Do You think it is Ok to impose a Fine on Overweight people?

Yes, Fine Both Smokers and Fat People 9

People who don't take care of their health cost all of us in terms of higher health care costs. These aren't really fines, you just aren't getting insurance as "cheap" as the people who don't smoke or aren't overweight.
They should start giving discounts to people who don't drink more than one soda per day, and for those who don't consume alcohol, and for those who don't cheat on their spouses, and for those who don't visit or live in the inner cities, or fly Malaysian Airlines, etc.
Progress comes slowly. We'll get there! We do all want to be safe and live a long life don't we? And we don't want to have to pay for other peoples foolishness!
