Is it normal my crush always brushes her teeth before spending time alone with me

So, I'm a woman. I have what you might call a romantic friendship with my female colleague. She is also my work coach. We have sessions together every 3 weeks. I am very infatuated with her and I think, from the long gazes, hugs and superfluous cheek-kisses, that the feeling is mutual.

For the record we're not from the same culture at all; I'm anglo-saxon and she's from a middle-eastern country.

To cut to the chase, I am puzzled that before every coaching session, she darts off to the bathroom exclaiming 'I'm just going to brush my teeth!'. She once added 'and wash my face'. Other than immediately before one of these sessions, she never normally explains what she is going to the bathroom for, or even announces that she is going to the bathroom at all.

Her general hygiene is impeccable and I have never noticed bad breath being a problem with her before.

What do you think the meaning of my colleague's behavior is? Please respond to the poll.

She's covering herself in case things get more 'intimate' than usual and wants you to know it. 16

She's just trying to show she's being considerate (in a non-romantic way) 4
It's business etiquette in some middle-eastern cultures. 1
She is hinting that your breath smells. 1

  • I’m watching forensic files, I think that should help but it doesn’t

            • OP as in 'original post'... This has been argued out in another thread.

Or it could be that she is OCD about hygiene.
