Is it normal my father confessed to being envious about my remetionship

Ever since I started my current girlfriend my father started to treat me differently, generally negative. His relationship with my isn’t going well (he often tells to stay single.)

But when I confronted him on his behavior he said he isn’t happy with his relationship and wishing he had one like mine.

    Ok, what kind of a freakin dad is he ?! Yes jealousy is human, but it seems he isn't truly happy for you. Father's are supposed to support their sons and daughters happiness. Your father sounds like he's insecure that your relationship is going better than his, which is immature.

    it happens, hes only human.
    Hes dad to you, but hes still a person.

    I guess it's a little weird coming from your dad. But he's not envious of your particular partner, just envious of the fact that it seems to be going well (while his isn't). He also isn't doing anything to sabotage it, so I don't see the problem.
