Is it normal my guy friend said i'd be dateable if i wasn't chubby?

The other day I asked my friend Mike if I was dateable. He knew I didn't mean for him to date me but just in general. He said something like "yeah, you're cute but you'd probably be even more dateable if you were a little less chubby" He was serious..he didn't smile or anything. I was shocked. I said "ooh snap" and he said "yeah sorry sometimes I say too much" and then I said well I guess that's not so bad and then we went to another topic

I'm 5'4 and 102 pounds. I'm size XS in all clothes/0 or 2 in US pants/dresses so I dunno what he means but I was looking at my body and realized that maybe I always see myself as the sizes I wear..because I do still have some fat to lose.

is it normal for a guy to say this tho? Should I take this as I'm fat? I think I could lose 15 or so thnx in advance I'm 21 btw.

Your BMI indicates that you're underweight (the cutoff for normal is 18.5 and you're 17.5). If anything you should gain weight.

A guy who can do that is not a man at all. he should be sorry, hes not only wrong, hes rude. a friend is suppose to make you feel good about yourself, building up confidence and being a shoulder when you need it. there is nothing wrong with your size. you should listen to that song, all about that bass. which i have no idea why Meghan Trainor is singing that, shes not even big. she looks great, and even if she was overweight, so what? tons of people like that anyways,

my ex weighed over 300pounds, and she wasn't very tall. it didn't work out because of all the lies, and being she was cheating on her boyfriend with me, when i figured it out, i broke it off, i didn't even want to be friends, it was easy for her to cheat on him because hes originally from Scotland on a submarine. so he be gone for a long time. the whole thing was a mess. i just know when he came back i was still going to be her dirty little secret, but i said no. i don't do that. its wrong, i been cheated on before, even knowing what its like when the other guy is your best friend. and they both knew who was who to me.

anyways, going off topic here. don't think on what he said, if you must think on it, focus on the part that hes wrong, you're date-able as is.

The guy sounds like a real dick, especially being that this is a sensitive issue within our society. If your size XS it doesn't sound like you have any problems with your weight so it wouldn't be healthy for you to lose weight. Don't worry about it.

This is another problem I have with society. Convincing women that to be beautiful they have to be skinny to the point that it's unhealthy. No, it's not natural and it's a disgrace! This anorexic standard of beauty we create is not a good one in my opinion. I'm attracted to thin women like your type, but not anorexic-thin

    Well, all you should know is that you're skinny af - and even if you weren't, you'd still be beautiful. Your guy friend is a literal asshole and unless he's Chris Hemsworth, then he doesn't have the right to be so damn critical.

That is not chubby at all. Maybe this guy like the anorexic bone type of women. I love bigger women, not that you are one. 5'4" 102 lbs... that's not chubby at all. That's kind of thin if you ask me. Don't even worry about what he said. He's obviously not very mature.
