Iin, my horrible fear for bugs?
Before I go to bed, I check my entire room for any kind of bugs. The windows in my room are always closed and so is my door. Then five minutes later, I turn off the lights. My room is kinda messy, so if I see anything that looks like a bug, I do the bug inspection again with the lights on. Sometimes little noises scare the hell out of me, like the floor creaking or the sound of my cats running around the house. While I'm in bed, I'm just looking around for any bugs on the walls, like turning my head everywhere to see anything that might look like a bug. I've had many people tell me that 'they're just bugs' or 'they're more afraid of you than you are of them', but it doesn't help.
Maybe it has something to do with the bugs that I've encountered over the summer? During the summer, I saw a few dead water bugs around the house, and sometimes crawling around the floor. But once, in the middle of the night, I woke up to the sound of my cats running around the house, meowing. I ignored them until I felt them jump on me, and when I opened my eyes, they were just staring at the ceiling, and when I looked up, there was a water bug on the wall (I was sleeping on the couch, and it's against the wall). So I ran into my room and sat on my bed, crying, and my cats were like playing hockey with the bug and I was afraid they were gonna throw it at me. I was literally CRYING for like 2 hours, at like 3am, and I had to stay up all night because I was so scared.
Even when it looked like it was dead, my cats would nudge it a little and it would move again, and to this day, I get so paranoid that a bug is going to show up when I least expect it. It prevents me from sleeping sometimes.
