We have a job that shuttles people to location at various warehouses. You get paid by commission. Which means so much money per truck you clear. I made for 4 days 150$ but we were told we need to pick it up at the location on Friday. However the company says on Friday they are probably only going to drive so many people to location which means a lot of people are not going to get paid. Today they only took 16 people and currently we have 45 workers. Since they refuse to mail checks to people if you dont drive 30-hour drive you simply do not get your check ever. Which sucks since considering the distance its going to cost most people half or all of their check. Not to mention they take out 6dollars a day for medical in case you get injured on the job and we are considered independent contractors.

    Think your firm is playing naughty tricks they are not allowed to withhold money earned

    Check your labor laws. That is mostly illegal.

    Normal if you live somewhere with weak or no industrial laws and no unions or you haven't bothered to join one.

      We are independent contractors, we have no union.

    Ask for checks.
    I'm prety sure they can't force you to reach a location for them to pay you, it might even be the opposite. If they can take medical they should be able to give pay. It is required by law to pay your workers and I'm prety sure that trying to force your workers to come get their pay is illegal unless consentual, what if the next day he says fuck it come get your pay in a 10h long flight to Beijing.
    Check the law or ask by phone the people representing the basic laws of work in your country.

      They have checks, they just wont mail them. You have to pick them up and if not you just never get paid.
