Is it normal my lazy ass room mate did this?

So I got a job but its far and I have to take a car. So there was a concern about my other jobless room mate not being able get to work when he got a job since we all share a car. There is three of us. The current who already job was the one who brought up the car issue, but they have their own car that they take to work. Since they are gone all day, me and my other room mate share a care. So I told my friend what to do to get a job. So they offer him a job and he says "Oh no I dont feel like doing it since its 10 hour shifts". Even though they are not working, and haven't been working for awhile. Im really pissed about this. I got a job but I had one for awhile but it was temporary position, so this new job is a new permanent position. My room mate is such a lazy piece of crap, how do I get them to try?
