Is it normal my small cut is so annoying

I cut my finger right where it bends on an old cage which I guess isnt the cleanest but the wound looks fine. I kept getting dirt in it though plus its very sore as soon as I move my finger or anything so I put a plaster on but its not working well. I avoid the plaster getting wet as much as possible and change it everyday but still the skin by the wound is white/light pink like I guess because moisture. So I think I cant wear a plaster anymore.
What should I do? Its so sore without a plaster on.
Update: Very strange but since I removed my plaster two hours ago the cut looks almost completely healed in 2 hours. So it wouldnt heal with the plaster but now it is!!!!!!!
