Is it normal my stepson never enjoys visiting us?

I realize we both freak out and yell about everything because we are so worried he is not gonna turn out right. I am worried he is getting too fat and tall, his mother is fat and she cooks fattening food for him. He gets pissed is we make fun of his mom or anyone he likes.so we yell about that and he refuses to eat anything but cereal. I worry he is gonna fail first grade and because he forgot his color wheel paper on the last day of school so we have to yell about that. I worry he is going to get hurt playing so I make him sit quietly the whole time he is at our house.His voice and when he plays he is so loud and I can't deal with it.He keeps begging to leave. His mom gets mad that he panics whenever he has to see us an says he never has fun.He likes to color but my ocd kicks in and I start bossing him around about how to color and he doesn't want to color with me.

    You yell at him, and then you complain about him being loud? Self-awareness isn't really your strong suit, is it?

    I'm not surprised that he only eats cereal. It may be a huge leap, but I wouldn't be surprised if a bowl of Honey Smacks is the tastiest and most nutritious thing ever eaten at your dining table.

    Some people should never be parents, step or birth, but here's a parenting hint: constantly yelling at and criticising kids doesn't help them grow up right, it just makes them hate the people who made them feel like shit.

    Give the poor kid a break, and never inflict yourself on him again.

    It is like any situation in life, when you act like a condescending ass all the time anyone with a brain runs in the other direction. Just wait until he refuses to visit your fiancé and you fiancé gets upset with you for ruining his life.
