Is it normal my vagina has smegma that smells funky ?

I know this will sound rather gross but I need advice girls ? Or anyone who knows what do I do? I have a bad feeling I haven't really been cleaning down there properly...
I was in the shower , used a mirror to look in between my flaps and I have this white stuff. Rubbed my fingers on it, smelt it and smells kinda weird. It's subtle but definitely noticeable :/ It smells a bit like shit as well & im worried because I always wipe properly. I never wipe and drag from my asshole to vagina so why the smell ?? Apparently using soap can cause U.I ? I used a bit of soap anyway with some water..Im wanting to know how to peoperly clean down there? For the record I'm 22 and a virgin so no need to worry about STDS

    I am certain there would be more then a few old dykes on this site with the same problem!!
