My wife thinks our son should play soccer because it's safer, less violent?
Just last month there was all kinds of shit flying about how heading the ball in soccer caused brain injuries. I think if parents want to baby their kids through life they should just wrap them in cotton balls and lock them in their rooms until they are 21.
Someone can drown in 2" of water in a bath tub, or be killed by a meteorite while sleeping in their bed. That's life. One can either live life or cower in a corner fearing death.
Ironically, the safest sport you could do is Martial Arts (judo, boxing, aikido, karate or jui jitsu...).
Because everyone is well aware of the potential damage they could do, practitioners are way more careful there. If you choose a good club, worst your son will get is a few bruises now and then.
Dude, if u ctully knew me ill show u my penis, and trust me it is not at all small and very far from it.... and most likely bigger then urs..I just love those sports and ufc..a
Maaannnnn, fuck soccer no offense to the players but tbat shit is gay..I mean I have 2boys and not on of em is gonna play socc its either football or wrestling or baseball or when they get to 11 or 12 tney can start mma training. ..
Soccer is like the beginners sport, some kids end up in flag football or baseball. I'm a hockey fan and can say that a child won't be getting hip checked into the side boards or into a fight like so many people think. Let your kid decide, introduce him to the world of sports
Smart woman. I assume she is basing this over the studies that link football with various brain trauma. Soccer would be safer as should basketball, tennis, and baseball. Don't suggest ice hockey, because that sport is very dangerous.
Soccer isn't really . . . 'safe'? If she wanted safe, tennis would probably be better. It should really be your son's decision in the end though; let him try it out but don't force him if he isn't into it. Nothing's worse than time spent on something you don't enjoy.
No, that should be up to your son. I mean, some sports are more violent than others, like hockey, but football/soccer can be deadly.
One time two teen aged boys were playing and the one boy collided into the other boy and caused something in him to rupture, and he began to bleed internally. If it wasn't for his coach's quick thinking and knowledge he might have died.
If your wife insists on him playing football, educate her by showing her footage of how violent and mean some of the players can be.
In the neighborhood I live in, people have beat the crap out of each other over the results of a soccer game and/or have broken a bone or two during the game. I've also seen this happen with other sports as well, so I really can't see how it's any safer.
Why not just ask your son which sport he wants to play?
BUHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH! Good call
