Is it normal (or ok) for me not to let my kitten do this

So I just got my kitten a bit over a month ago now... has had 2 lots of vaccines/boosters and she's not desexed yet (she's only 3 months)...
is it normal or ok or wrong for me not to let my cat outside???
And I have had her in her own room for her to get used to going to bed at night.. is that normal and ok or not??

My cat is pretty much a strictly indoor kitty, and he's very healthy for being almost 14 years old. I'm not a big fan of letting cats go outside without supervision.

    • Yea its something I'm worried about.. my cat will be able to jump over the fences and via trees so until I'm able to stop her from doing that she is going to be supervised if and when she is outside

Also make sure that you take your cat to the vet to the veterinarian to get her microchip as well as to get her all of her shots. Additionally it's important to have your cat always wear a collar with an identification tag. If course if some awful jerk wants to steal your bestfriend the only way to stop them is to not let your cat, or dog run around loose without supervision.

Another thing about cats running around loose is that they can a terror to the local bird, and rodents populations, and killing native wildlife is also a great way for your cat to catch parasites like worms, and toxoplasma gondii which can be very dangerous for pregnant women, and unborn babies!

Cats are domesticated for a reason, to be your household companion. You wouldnt let your dog roam freely, why should your cat?

It's okay to leave her inside. Give her different toys and spend time with her.
Later you can walk outside with her, but don't leave her alone outside: she could kill lots of small animals.

Letting her out is the best thing. Cats are predators, she needs to be able to hunt and explore her territory. She needs this for her mental well being. People who want to lock their cats up and never let them out should not have them. How would you like to be confined to 4 walls for the rest of your life? They also tend to be nocturnal creatures, far from needing her own bedroom and a going to bed routine she needs a cat flap or small window so she can come and go at her leisure. She’s a cat, not a child so treat her as a cat.

It’s an unpopular opinion but I agree with you. The only argument I sort of get is that they decimate the local rodent and bird population. But even that’s only bad if you live somewhere with threatened / endangered species. I feel like people who say it’s dangerous to let out cats, either don’t have enough money to properly take care of it to begin with, or live in some tiny apartment / in the city where they shouldn’t have a cat but “waahhh wahh it’s cute, therefore I must have it regardless”

Your ramblings make no sense. If you have opinions about my post, please convey them in understandable English.

It’s meant to be 4chan style I think. Personally 4chan X IsItNormal is not the crossover I needed this holiday season.

Oh right. Never heard of 4chan and no idea what it is. So to me it’s still the ramblings of an idiot, and makes no sense.

    • I'm hearing you.. I should have noted I do intend on letting her out eventually but I'm worried that since she's not fully vaccinated she could get diseases from other cats as theres other cats in the neighborhood.. n I dont want her to get prego either.. as for the room am trying to get her in routine as she can be an active kitty and do plan on letting her out to roam the house

Sorry I misunderstood I thought you were saying she has had her vaccinations. I agree she should get those done first and as you say get her done unless you want kittens.

        • Not sure if it's the case everywhere but in Australia they have 3 within a period of time and then 1 every year..

Yeah this is fine before it's been vaccinated, but let it out once you can. I'm surprised how many people are seemingly cruel enough to keep their cat imprisoned its whole life. But heyy, most people can justify anything if the alternative mildly inconveniences them.

That reminds me of a nice recipe. Here it is.

How to cook a cat with your coffee maker
After I posted this on the Swedish version of Coffee Machine Cuisine people got very upset. Some of the things they called me was idiot, cannibal (?) and they even said that I’m the reason for the low status that cats got in this society. I don’t get why people are so upset?! It’s no worse than eating a cow, pig or a chicken if you ask me. And hunting must be the most humane way to kill animals for food.

It all took place on a warm and sunny day when me and Dan were out at our cabin with all of our cats. Since we got so many cats I figured that I could shoot one of them so I released them into the woods and began the hunt. First I thought that the fat one, Gucci, would be an easy shot but she managed to escape surprisingly quickly. It was the sun that eventually was Iggy’s downfall. She is quite photophobic you see so she could hardly see where she was going. And BAM, easy shot for me.cooking with your coffee maker

        R.I.P. my little sweetheart.
        Time
        5 hours
        Ingredients
        1 cat
        ½ red onion
        1 pimiento
        1 clove of garlic
        2 ½ dl coconut milk
        2 ½ dl cream
        2 tbsp meat extract
        Juice of lime
        Ginger
        Butter
        Instructions
Skin, fillet and chop the kitty cat. Start your coffee maker, grease the heater and place the pieces of your cat onto it. Fry it until they are cooked throughly and tender, it will take about an hour (it depends on what cut of meat you’re using and how fresh it is). Remove the meat and wipe the heater.

Chop all of the remaining ingredients that shall be chopped. Put a dollop of butter into the carafe, let it melt and then put the onion and the garlic in the carafe and fry it for about half an hour. Season with ginger. Add coconut milk, cream and meat extract and let it cook for two hours – it should get really warm. After that add the cat meat and wait a bit longer. Finally add pimiento pieces, lime juice and season generously with freshly ground black pepper and just a little salt. Turn off your coffee maker.

The best way to serve this delicious cat stew is accompanied by a glass of a tasty red wine and freshly baked bread.

Yea you shouldn't let her outside. There are many threats out there. Cats that live indoors live way longer than outdoor cats. Hopefully you have a window she can look oit and you keep her stimulated with plenty of toys and play!

It depends. If you live in the country and not near any roads then it's probably ok to let her out, once she's old enough to find her way home. But if you live near other people and roads then it would probably be best to keep her inside.

Ultimately it is your decision. Read up on the dangers of cats being allowed to roam. Think about how they apply to your living situation. You now have a living thing that is depending on you so you need to try and make the best decisions you can for it's welfare.
