Is it normal people hate on asexuals for no reason

If you say something about being asexual then immadiately there will be people who get angry, mostly men of course. Actual strangers who get angry and offended that you do not wish to have sex with other people. How is this something to get angry for? Its another persons life and why do some people want everybody to have sex all the time or else they are angry and offended? Its not gonna get them laid any less that some people do not feel like having sex considering the vast majority of people are sexual.

    No, not really.

But you have to remember, society is extremely sex obsessed. You might as well say sex is the only important thing in life. Sex is society's number 1 priority. Why do you think so many people act like they're sex life is so important? Or you can't even have a relationship without there being sex involved? Everything is about sex, sex, sex. So yeah, of course people are gonna hate on you if they find out you are sexually inactive.

Assuming you're one of the asexuals, the best thing you can do is not let people get to you. What they say doesn't have an impact on your life. Hope this helps.

Sex is part of human nature. So maybe it just makes them wildly uncomfortable Bc it’s really not overly normal. I think all these different sexual identities will be normalized in a few years. I personally don’t care what anyone does or doesn’t do with their own bodies.

I think that, ultimately, they know that it's disordered. I don't really mean that in a necessarily negative way; it's more neutral. However, it ultimately is disordered, since humans are supposed to be disposed towards having sex.

I'm not suggesting they need to change; on the contrary, I would suggest that they stay chaste with their gifts of limitless chastity.

    • If so then all sexualities are disordered. Same argument can be used for gay people as they can't naturally make babies which is the purpose of why sex exist in the first place.
It can merely be considered a disorder if it's caused by a medical issue which it isnt't because then it isn't asexuality but a medical issue that can be fixed. It's kind of like how people seem to love pancakes which I, personally, am pretty indifferent towards and can many times find that it looks delicious but once I take a bite i'm like "meh" and don't want it.

"Same argument can be used for gay people as they can't naturally make babies which is the purpose of why sex exist in the first place."
Yes, and it is a very legitimate argument against homosexuality.

Asexuality is a sexuality; a sexuality is a disposition; a disposition is imposed by the will; the will chooses based upon the intellect, claiming what is to be disposed towards and what is to be disposed against. Now, certain dispositions are according to the natural order; in this case, that disposition is heterosexuality. Other dispositions are -not- according to the natural order, thus they are dis-ordered.

BUT a disorder is not necessarily an inherent cause of evil, since, in some cases, they cause no evil, such as in asexuality, and, in other cases, they are offset by the ordered portion of the will (as in chaste homosexuality).

Dispositions (as sexualities are) are not a medical issue, but an issue of the will, which can be changed via the intellect.

As Litelander has said, I'm a virgin. I can't have raped anyone; it's a physical impossibility, because if I had raped someone before, I would not be a virgin.

        Also, I don't "fuck", because then I wouldn't be a virgin, either, would I?

You don't know me in the slightest, so why do you believe such a thing as that? I don't even touch people normally, let alone in a sexual manner. Like, someone will want a high-five or something, and I give the most pathetic, reluctant high-five one could give. It's really an unfortunate habit.

As I have said, it is a neutral matter. It is simply disordered. Humans are naturally ordered to wish to reproduce in a sexual manner. To wish anything other than that is to be disordered by definition. Leave your negative connotations out of this.

That's always confused me, if anything they should be glad I/you/we don't like sex it means less competition for them.

I dont know. Maybe they are jealous and insecure abiut the fact they can mot get laid. I not sure how to get people to stop bothering me about it. I had to end a few relationships since a few very horny freinds needed my participation in discussion and wouldnt accept "no thank you"

    • Same here I had a friend abandon me because said friend wanted to talk about sex all the time and I never brought the subject up or seemed to want to talk about it. Its just not something that comes naturally for me though but personally I dont mind others talking about it but it's not a topic i'm gonna bring up on my own.

Yeah I hate those people, but I also hate the people who claim to be asexual, but yet still have sex or still have crushes or want to kiss/makeout. That's NOT asexual, you just want to put a cool trendy label on yourself. You make true asexuals not be taken seriously.

Sexual and romantic attraction don’t overlap for everyone. If someone doesn’t experience romantic attraction they are aromantic, someone doesn’t have to be aromantic to be asexual hence some asexual people have crushes.

Also I’m not sure who thinks being asexual is cool, from what I’ve seen people either think it’s odd or are neutral towards it.

romantic and sexual are the same thing

        Comment Hidden ( show )
    • That's not really true. Kissing and making out isn't sex. Some asexuals enjoy making out but won't take it any further.
Having crushes is normal because asexual and aromantic are different things. For me, an asexual, love has nothing to do with sex. I don't really like making out either, though it depends and if I am in a relationship it can be nice sometimes.
Being asexual is hardly considered 'cool'. If one wanted to be considered 'cool' for their sexuality they'd like identify as gay, bi or choose to have unique pronuns all of which are things that most people nowadays are accepting of and even finds cool.

then they're not asexual. Not wanting to have sex doesn't make you asexual. Not experiencing crushes (AKA attraction) makes you asexual. Why would someone want to kiss or make out with someone if they're not attracted to them. Makes asexuals look like a laughing stock.

You’re being deliberately obtuse, being both asexual and aromatic is fine but they can and do exist separately.

            • SkullsNRoses

              Think of it like this:

Romantic attraction to someone is the desire to do things with them that can be shown in a kids movie, things like holding hands, cuddling and kissing.

Sexual attraction is the desire to do things shown in 18+ films with them, like masterbating them and oral, vaginal and anal sex.

Romantic acts don’t always lead to sexual ones and romantic attraction doesn’t always include sexual attraction (and vice versa).

It could be a number of "reasons" why people dislike asexuality.

It's been said that the want to reproduce is natural, and could be paired with the idea that humans strive to eternally preserve their legacy and influence.

In reproduction, the parent creates a child that will pass on the legacy of both parents. In their minds, they believe that since the child will continue to live after they've died, so will their legacy.

As for why they get angry at asexuality, perhaps they see it as something too far from the normal preservation drive seen in most. And we all know how humans react to the unfamiliar; with fear and hostility.

They dislike it because they are not willing to accept something they don't understand.

I think and it’s become well documented too, that there is an increasing fear of intimacy in the younger generation. Young people as a whole are just not having sex as much, despite having more advanced methods of connection than any other generation before it. It’s slightly alarmist to say this doesn’t bode well for our species, with our species being largely overpopulated on the planet. So go on and do your thing, invite others to join you, make an asexual movement you have my support! Anything that will help ease the traffic on the way to work
