Is it normal reveal something deeply personal for a byline in a big magazine?
I want to pitch a very personal story to a large respected online magazine (1.9M readers) and I don't see any problems getting their attention because it's a unique story (in general) and its something they haven't had before. I'm a freelancer and serial entrepreneur and I would like to have some writing credits because writing poetry, books, and essays is something I really want to pursue. The story is very deeply personal and even if I'm telling it to strangers over the internet my body trembles. It's somewhat traumatic but I feel like it could be an important story for others out there who may need the message. I've always been a very open person when it comes to personal aspects of my life. I'm not sure if this could hurt my writing career or not though.
