Is it normal rubbing fingertips against objects to create a vibration feeling?

So, i've had this habit for as long as i remember, and honestly cannot shift it.. Nor do i want to shift it!

I rub my fingertips on certain objects to create a vibration-like feeling through my fingers, i find it works best on radiators, glossed objects like mugs, or a glossed door frame, and glass. But i have perfected my technique (if you could call it that) and can do it on pretty much anything now, other than fabric.

If i try do it, and i don't get the vibration feeling, i get really stressed and my legs go weird, and i will have to carry on trying until it works.
It makes me so relaxed, and i can find myself doing it for ages.

Does anyone else do this?

I have no idea what you're talking about, but there are waaaaaay worse habits/addictions/self-calming methods out there.
My motto: As long as you aren't hurting anybody, do whatever makes you happy. :)

    >> Now you made me touch my screen. Haha, Never heard about this before but ...if it makes you relaxed I see no harm in this. It beats what others might do to get the same feeling.

I do this when I'm anxious or if I'm writing a paper and I'm two seconds away from throwing my laptop out the window.
