Is it normal some people have to shove a joke down your throat where you just want to punch them in the face? Like I could see saying it once but ranting on for about a paragraph about how funny it is seems irritating as hell. Why would someone try so hard to convince you its funny when you A.dont care or B.didnt think it was funny to begin with.

    Well this is an interesting pet peeve you have. I must say, I've never heard somebody trying to force a joke on someone else.

    Usually, when somebody's joke isn't funny and nobody laughs, they shut up because they're usually embarrassed. I could understand how frustrating it would be to hear someone go on and on about why their joke IS funny.

    Something is only funny if others find it funny. If they don't, it generally is not considered funny. Maybe somewhere else, to a different group of people, but if you told a joke and nobody near you laughs, explaining why its funny would be pointless.
