Is it normal someone wanted to pay me real money for an item in my video game?

The game is Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The person is my co-worker. I was playing my Switch in the breakroom, my coworkers noticed I was playing and started telling me about what they're doing in Animal Crossing. One of them got excited when he saw I had an item he wanted. He offered me a couple bucks for it and I turned it down since I really like the item myself. Is it normal? This felt so weird. Lol

Don’t most video games make money through selling upgrades and rare items for real money? To me this is just the offline version of that and not all that weird at all.

Saves you time farming for an item. Time is money. Paying extra to save you time is fine, paying extra to be extremely overpowered is not ok.

i don’t have new horizons, but if it’s like new leaf then you should be able to buy another one from a machine in the nook market so that you both can have one.

The time and money people invest in video games is hilarious to me.

My sister-in-law spent $80 USD of my money to buy a Hello Kitty Couch in her Animal Crossing phone app
So I’m not surprised by this at all.

If you have the money to spend on silly little things I don’t see a problem, it’s good to reward yourself with little gifts if you’ve been doing well in your goals.

    Also, give it to them.
