Is it normal 4th machine broken

Today my playstation 3 slim stopped reading my games. I only had this machine for a couple of months. I have had 4 playstation machines, two thick and two slim and all the machines suddenly stopped playing my games. I have tried cleaning them and clean the reading lense and have also tried to run cd laser cleaner on them. I restored the file system but that didn't help either. Why can't the machines last for many years? I'm wasting my money here and it's damn frustrating.

    Dust is the enemy.

This is correct. After the warranty is void I take my consoles apart for maintenance. Dust around the coils tends to overheat them.

Check this guy out if you've never cleaned your own system before. TheHGCGamersClube on youtube he's knowledgeable and answers any questions you might have.

Ah, I remember the older generations. Gamecube/N64 never broke, Xbox 360 broke once, Dreamcast broke twice, PS2 broke 3 times (our ps3 hasn't broken at all... yet).

I've had my PS3 slim since 2009. Moved twice since then. No issues at all.

Do you dust your machines? Are they in well-ventilated positions? Do you leave them one for long periods of times?

If it breaks, send them in for repairs! You don't have to keep buying new ones!

Every Sony product I have ever bought has lasted forever. You must just be unlucky.

Ive had 1,2,3 and 4, owned Sony stereo's and have a Sony Bravia TV. Never had a problem. Every other electronics brand ever purchesed has been shit: Samsung, panasonic, Apple, HP, Dell, LG, even Toshiba but Sony always goes and goes.

I'm glad I never had much interest in consoles. At least when a PC breaks down you can usually do something about it yourself.

In your case though, I do believe Playstations come with a 1-year warranty, so you should be able to get this last one repaired for free.

"Why can't the machines last for many years?" Now you wouldn't want those super rich dudes to have to worry about where their next million dollars was coming from, would you? Are you really so selfish as to want your products to last long enough that the manufacturers have to slow production and make less profits? Of course you aren't, so deal with it, sucker, cause they've got you by the balls and you are always gonna have to pay too much to play.

No, no, you are looking at this all wrong. You should be overjoyed that you have been able to contribute to the lives of the extremely wealthy. Perhaps your 4 machines helped pay for one day of one of his children's education, at that fancy private school.
        Don't you feel better now?
