Is it normal that a woman at my job hates me for being "well preserved"?

She works in the beauty department, so I asked for her help on what the best eye serum for a 30 year old is. She showed me one, explained it, and I politely thanked her and bought it. She stopped talking to me the next day and just rolls her eyes when she sees me. I laughed it off and moved on after my manager told me she hates me because I'm the same age as her, but "well preserved", while she has early wrinkles.

Well over a week later, something happened with her department where they scheduled too many beauty consultants, so they had her work in Market(my department) for a day. My boss told her to listen to everything I say. I politely asked her to backstock the items in the backroom (which is the easiest thing a person could do there) and she wouldnt do it. Instead, she left for a few hours and came back. I told my boss and she didn't start backstocking until my boss told her to get over her grudge and start acting her age.

Is any of this normal?

Normal for people with little emotional self-regulation or ability to deal with their own jealousy. They need to work on themselves.

These people exist and are more common in some social groups than others. Most 30-year-olds have mastered themselves enough not to display this sort of behaviour though. My advice is to keep your boss informed of what happens. For now it seems he's brushing the behaviour off but if it becomes too much of a problem for his company's operations, he will take further action. Make sure you have evidence and a defence when this happens though, in case she denies it or tries to turn the blame on you.

I take exception to your advice. I think the OP would be much safer if she simply talked to her supervisor, and explained that she didn't work well with other person. This kind of situation is best handled with non-confrontational avoidance. The minute you elevate the personal tension to management, both people look bad, and are both likely to be cut in the next layoff. Emotional baggage is an expensive drain on productivity.

It's jealousy. Some people tend to be very jealous and competitive and hate anyone they think might have something they don't have. Instead of trying to improve themselves, it's easier to try to make the other person's life harder or be rude to them. They're miserable people who can't find happiness within themselves and always compare themselves to other people because of it.

It sounds like you are exaggerating a light-hearted exchange in order to make yourself appear favorable, probably due to some insecurity of your own.

Honestly, no exaggerating here. I did get completely shut out by her after that eye serum conversation and my manager told me she heard her talking shit and that she was comparing her face to mine. This isn't the first time some chick has gotten upset with me over nothing. I ain't even hot either. XD

They saw you on your day off and are jealous of your fishnets. Obviously.

Aw, fuk! My bad it sounded like a "thathappened" type story at the end lol. That's weird that people like that even exist.
Did you preserve yourself, or you just have good genetics? I have a theory that people who barely go outdoor and / or barely use facial expressions, will stay young looking for a lot longer (that is how I "preserved" myself anyway, although genetics might have helped a bit too).

It's alright. Your theory sounds correct. From age 17-26, I spent a good chunk of my life being a shut in, only going out to work, Walmart, or friends houses and they also didn't go out much either. I also didn't smile a lot around that time. Now that I'm going out more/smiling a lot more, it's given me dark eye circles, sunspots, and sunburn(even though I cake on the sunblock). XD

Same about the shut in part lmao. People are always surprised by how old I am. Now I'm getting grey hairs, but also acne which is weird since I rarely got any until about 25. I wonder if stress has an effect on all that too, or people just go through hormonal shifts in life :[

Supposedly people go through shifts when they're at or close to their 30s. Their skin and hair condition changes. I dont know if it's true or not though.
