Is it normal that as an artist, i'm weird and i think i think differently

You have described me here so you're not the only one! I'll be driving along and something like a tree thats different will catch my eye, and instantly, i think its beautiful-the way its formed and how it stands out, but, when i explain this to others, they look at me weirdly and say..."its just a tree" They just dont see the beauty of nature!

Technically your not weird because you fit into a group of people (artist).

I believe that the word "artist" has isolated people who may seem more eccentric with those who are more mainstream. Everyone is an artist. The housekeeper's abilities and acts are a work; even a plumbers acts are a work. So, maybe redefine the meaning of the word art. Your artistic abilities are more along the lines of what most people think of when they think of "artist" Appreciate your depth and countenance. It's part of your gift.

Extremely talented artists are interesting individuals,
but I've met A LOT of people who call themselves "artists" who's work is nothing special or just plain bad, and those are the same people who tend to have flaky personalities & are highly self-absorbed.

I'm a color blind artist. Because I'm color blind I usually stay with black and white drawings but when I paint for myself or galleries I do colors.sometimes I mess up but I think that's the good part. I get what you mean by having a different taste than what most like.

okay I'm going to give you the answer you want to hear: omg wow really you're just really different and unique...this is not normal but in all the good ways because you're so artistic minded and out of the norm, like your mind is in another dimension. no one thinks like you do and it's SO admirable that youre such a breath of fresh air. Yeah everybodys different. artists and creative people in general might be thought of as different or strange. but in reality, we are all different and strange because no 2 people are alike. embrace it!

I'm an artist and what I've learned over the years is many people, creative, inventors, musicians, and any special type of artist you are...these people generally think a little different, see things a little different than most. I've been a little strange since I started walking. I have a good personality I'm told and I'm funny but I also think of strange things or look at things a bit different than the average person. This is what makes us artists. If our mind worked the same, where would the creation come from? Feel lucky you think the way you do.....create!

Among eccentrics, you are probably normal.

It's only a perception of mind, what might be normal for you would be abnormal/weird to the others. What makes an artist is not the style or the talking about things but the mind and the appreciation of their arts. Don't underestimate the weird or not normal people, they might be the ones who will change every rules, whether you like it or not.

That's why I love art, because a weirdo like me fits right in. We are people that visualize and see things differently than most people. Guess that's a gift.

As artists when pay closer attention to details and usually see beauty where other ppl tend to miss it but sometimes I will point out something to a friend and they'll be like "dang i never noticed that" it's just how certain ppl are programmed. So i think normal.

It's normal for an artist to find beauty in anything. The other day i was standing in the rain at the bus stop and saw the sun shining down through the rain, onto some trees across the field. I had tears in my eyes because it was so beautiful to me :)

I am definitely a beauty seeker. Colours of leaves and petals can astound me...and the dreaminess of nightime, moonlight, sun reflecting on water, raindrops hanging from flowers, rippling waves, flight, sound, colour of birds etc. so many beautiful things I see in a day that amaze me. And I am an artist and musician too. You are lucky to experience the world intensely and to be affected by beauty.

You sound like a beautiful person. I am an artist as well and have always dressed "unique" and "different." In high school, I was considered a "freak," but I did not let anyone get me down. As artists, we are special people with amazing talents. Some people tend to get jealous of us. Some people wish that they had the guts to have their own unique look and way of living like we do. You're perfectly normal-always think "outside the box." NEVER CONFORM! :)

As an artist, let me tell you that weirdness is practically a requirement in this field.

It's not crazy at all. Its a fact that we artists are insane. That is what makes us artists in the first place.

If you mean famous artist yes. We have this image of what a artist must be but not all artists fit that. The image of what famous art should be might be different from a artist who is good but will never be noticed. It seems it comes down to exposure. If you notice most of the famous ones have exposure, money or are already famous for something else. So that is how they get recognized in the lime light.

Artists, by definition, think outside the box. They are interested in new conceptions and interpretations. They want to express things in a new way. I write "movie music" and I dream of new combinations of notes creating new tunes and harmonies.

Don't worry about it. Musicians and artists are all crazy! Just enjoy the beauty whether natural or man made. It's normal for artists and musicians, not so much for accountants and plumbers.

Some people try too hard. Not all artists are off the beaten path. Yeah some are. But others try too hard to do it intentionally.

But then again anyone could think that so I would call myself an artist if I truly understood every detail of a painting and its meaning, and of course if I was better st painting and drawing

Well, according to the A B and B+ scores I get for my drawing at School I guess I'm not bad at art and I do somewhat consider myself an artist because I too see the beauty and difference in things. I see a tree, but its not just a tree, it's an object of nature, happiness and freedom, it is as individual as a persons hand prints and as beautiful as freedom itself, I see not just a tree, but...freedom, swaying in the wind and bearing its fresh green leaves.

So I guess yes it's normal to see things in a point of view like yours and its normal to change your mind about it.

Oh i do something like this but when i see stuff my friends will be like "Look that clound looks like a marshmallow" and ill be like "LOL that clound looks like a bear racing a dragon" and friends will be like "WTF"

but i also do the beaty thing because sometimes i looks at the sky trees landscapes or people and see how pretty they are and wish i could capture it and another thing i do is imagine scenes and stories for music like sometimes ill tell my mom this song reminds me of riding on a poped through the streets of italy or this song reminds me of a forbidden romance (when it hs no words)

It's perfectly normal! I'm considered just about as weird as they come in the music department at my University.

But the thing is...what you REALLY want to watch out for...don't be so weird that you're gott-damn annoying. Trust me, I've met plenty in my time, and even someone as weird as you or I can spot them out. No one likes an annoying person!

The full planet would have just posted exactly what i posted just now if everyone was to think the same, just think how mad it would be for everyone in the world to be doing, and thinking what your doing and thinking at the same time all the time, talking about the same things at the same time, getting the same ideas, be like 7 billion clones all doing the same fucking thing its driving me mad! I like different... Different is definetly normal :)

Normal is everyone thinks differently, if everyone thought the same way, we would all live in identical houses, with identical stuff, driving identical cars our identical jobs at the same place, god just imagine if we all thought exactly the same it would be scarey... The full planet with everybody living breathing eating working in the same motion, that would be fucked up, man keep your way of thinking, your helping us stay normal.

I'm the same way, I once stared at a banana for ten minutes and really enjoyed the textures in it. But I don't think we're normal, I think we're special. I'm a tattoo artist and have learned to love tattoo art. Nikola tesla is one person I admire and he was really weird. Just keep it up we need more people like us out there, to really enjoy life you must enjoy the little things

If you think you think differently then thinking you think differently would mean something different to you than it does to others so it's hard to answer.
