Is it normal that each powerpoint or word document i open takes abt 30 seconds?

I feel very frustrated that my laptop opens powerpoint and word documents so slowly! It is just me or is it MS Office 2010? I'm considering reinstalling MS Office 2000 if I can't find a solution. Any ideas/recommendations or IIN?

    Lmao 3O seconds? No way you must have the flintstone edition windows dude.you betta burn it down or the machine will affect ur brain dude

    I think it's normal. Mine takes a little while too...then the little pictures shows up for a little while before it actually opens. My laptop only has 2gb ram though...

    How old is your laptop? Apparently they slow down after a year or so.

    Is your anti-virus software up to date and have you scanned recently? Have you installed all relevant windows updates and service packs?
